Cook like a Chef! September 2, 2010 J. Fields (Pennsylvania) This Brinkmann charcoal Smoker is incredible....I've had mine for just 2 weeks and I've cooked/smoked babyback ribs, chicken parts, and last night I smoked a prime-rib roast. My gosh....I have NEVER had better tasting meats with this much FLAVOR in my life, and I'm a guy that loves to eat. Sure, it takes 3 to 5 hours to cook these dishes, but it is well worth it. TIP: To keep the temps up to a level that is needed, completely FILL your charcoal pan with charcoal, and I recommend Kingsford's new "Competition Briquets" (they burn hotter and longer than regular Kingsford briquets). Also, only fill the water pan HALFWAY with liquid. I used beer in my pan for the ribs and chicken and red wine for the prime-rib. If you fill your water pan up all the way, you will have a tougher time reaching the ideal temps for cooking. As for seasoning, "John Henry's" Mojave Garlic Pepper is incredible, and I've used it on all of the above mentioned meats before they went on the grill....the flavor it adds is unbeatable. I cannot imagine anybody who loves and truly appreciates great tasting food not loving this Brinkmann Smoker. Yes...you will swear the food was cooked at a 5-star restaurant!
The little (big) smoker that could! August 22, 2010 Kushits I love it, I've smoked something every night for a few weeks straight. For the price it cant be beat. Chickens come out so tender and juicy, they literally melt away in your mouth. It's a bit difficult to regulate the temp though due to the charcoal ash smothering itself out constantly and it's nearly impossible to get at once the foods in and the smokers HOT. I saw some guides online to overhaul the smoker with a few minor tweeks like drilling holes in the charcoal pan.. i may just give it a go since it's not expensive to begin with. Great Bargain I'm off to Smoke sausages!
Super fast shipping! Great product! August 9, 2010 Rachel A Sullivan (MOUNT PLEASANT, SC, US) This item shipped WAY faster than anticipated- what a pleasant surprise! And the item was the exact product my husband had been looking to get so he already knew what modifications to make- fits perfectly on our porch next to our grill as well. Thanks a bunch!
Poor overall design, needs simple modifications to be good April 19, 2010 DN 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
The smoker can be OK, but not unless the user makes after purchase modifactions. Without them, this thing allows for VERY poor air flow and extremely poor regulation of temperature control. (No air vents, or easy access to charcoal pan like the 3 part models)
Save yourself the time and trouble and go with at least the "Brinker Gournment Model" that has the lift apart charcoal tray. This basic model is not worth the money.
Not a bad product... March 3, 2010 JR (Philadelphia, PA) 4 out of 12 found this review helpful
This product filled my entire house with billows of noxious smoke. Once I got it out onto the patio it worked flawlessly and the brisket it prepared was outstanding. This product is best suited for outdoor use even if you have a vent above your stove. The vent does not filter the smoke out of the house fast enough.
