Great Low Maintanance Smoker! September 2, 2010 Chris Burr (Alaska) This is a very nice smoker and the Bradley company backs their products completely. Upon arrival, the front door was damaged during shipment. With one phone call I had a new door delivered to our home in Alaska within a week, directly from the company. I was also assurred that any future problems would be handled with such prompt and curtious responses. I would recommend the smoker to anyone who hasn't the patience or desire to constantly feed wood or chips into a non-digital smoker. This one has a wonderful feeding stack and does a tremendous job. I bought it as a birthday gift for my husband thinking that I wouldn't be inclined to use it. However, that's not the case at all. Due to the obvious user friendly digital display panel, I had no problems cooking with it myself.
I recommend this smoker to anyone! We love it!
Works great every time ! July 27, 2010 Jeff N. Olsen (Atlanta) Prev I had a charcoal smoker -- my results were always random -- with this unit --- perfect outcome every time -- and you can completely leave unit unattended -- mingle with your party/guests -- return at projected completion time -- and great results! I highly recommend this prdct
Bradley Smoker Customer Service Helpful July 22, 2010 David S. Olsten Had a problem with the unit not getting hot enough. One call to Bradley's customer service and I had a replacement heating element in a matter of days. Now that's what I call customer service! Also got their cold-smoke box accessory...that works great! I do wish they could correct the biscuits to load all the time. Sometimes they don't slide in on their own.
Great smoker July 6, 2010 Amazon Addict I did a lot of research and this is the best deal. I am so glad I got the 6 rack versus the 4 rack...it is worth the investment. Very easy to use, just set and go. Make sure you buy a lot of pellets, I got the starter variety pack, but realized that it takes a lot more pellets, so I had to get the large box. Great instructions, still working on recipes for the perfect ribs, but this smoker was a great investment...was my hubby's Christmas present.
Good for the price range, but don't expect perfection June 1, 2010 John S. Brandte (Deerfield, NH United States) We just bought and used the Bradley Digital 6-Rack Smoker. Operation is really easy and straight forward. Seasoning takes a little over an hour. We smoked three packs of pork butt (6 pieces) plus some poppers. Overall, I would probably buy this again, but I am not really enamored with its performance.
The wood puck feeder works well. It did get a little jammed once, but it was easy to fix. You just need to keep everything clean and in line. The controls are very easy to use. If you are doing pork butts, you probably can't use all the racks.
The down side is the temperature. The 500 watt heating element seems a little under powered for the big box and the smoker itself took hours and hours to come up to temperature (I am sure so much meat played a part). Additionally, for over 12 hours, we had a significant discrepancy between the Bradley temp readings and our separate dual probe thermometer.
Bottom line, the result was good, but next time we will start the smoking before bed two days earlier to give plenty of time to get the pork butt to 190 degrees. I will add that this is MUCH easier than the hardwood charcoal units as you you don't have to tend it all day, smell like smoke when you are done and you can even leave it to go to church!
