With the Bradley Smoke Generator with adapter, because it's so highly adjustable, you can retrofit almost any small structure into a smokehouse! There are 2 parts to this setup... the Smoke Generator is identical to the ones that come with Bradley's Stainless Steel Smoker... but where the lugs would attach to the cabinet, they instead attach to the face plate of the adapter, which is also made of stainless steel. When fitted, the wall of the smokehouse structure fits between the faceplate and the collar, which is intended to remain in place permanently while the Smoke Generator can be easily attached or removed when not in use. Examples? An ideal structure for attaching might be an old chest freezer, standing upright, the lid for the door, with a 5.08" hole in the side for the adapter. A blueprint for building your own smokehouse is included with the unit. I've had my Bradley going on 3 years, never had any problem with it and I smoke 500+ pounds of salmon in it per yr!

I purchased one to adapt to my stainless smoker. It worked well for about 10 times, then the heating element melted the metal around it, and the mechanizm that advances the 'pucks' jammed, then ran constantly. Unfortunately, its still the best on the market. I would avoid anything like this made in China. It will be less expensive, but poor quality. The stainless BBQs made in China are made from scrap, and the gas regulators are garbage. Buyer Beware

This thing worked like a charm for about four months. The smoke was perfect. I loved it. Then it started feeding the smoke biscuits continually instead of one every 15 minutes. I took it apart and couldn't get it to stop. Probably a lower tech approach to smoke generation would work more reliably.
I've seen a few other brands and models on the market so I'll try one of those.
